I agree. Really. It IS rude. Not only that, those types have no dignity whatsoever. I have a similar story. A friend of my mothers was in labor and the baby was coming fast so there was no time for any drugs. She was screaming and crying and cursing and carrying on and her doctor said "How could something feel so bad coming out when it felt so good going in?" That shut her up for a minute or two. :lol:

Because I dont beleive that women really need them. Women having been giving birth naturally for ever. Why is it that they need drugs now? Besides the fact that when you use drugs in labor you inhibit your natural reactions to the labor, possibly causing yourself and your child to lose the important connection that labor brings between mother and child. Plus the drugs transfer to the child making them more drowsy than whats normal which is a big reason alot of mothers have problems breast feeding. Its important for them to learn how to breast feed as soon as possible.

I was only in labour 12 hours. It was still fucking painful. They gave me something called pethidine and I turned from being a girl who was joking around to the woman out of exorcist. I was swearing and proper losing my rag with my mum who kept saying it can't be that painful [she had three c-sections and never gave birth in the normal way] and she was hitting my leg and telling me to stop screaming cuz a person she knew from work was in the labour ward visiting her daughter and I was embrassing her. Needless to so she stfu after I booted her in the face. The nurses were ever so nice but I was a bitch to them. I wanted gas and air but they said no for some reason. I think the pethidine had a lot to do with my mood change - I will never have that stuff again. I'll stick to gas and air if I can have it next time.

I admire you for doing it without drugs Mandy. I suppose some woman were born to give birth. My mate has four kids and she loved giving birth. She was relishing the pain and looking forward to it - she had no drugs and totally loved the whole experience because it was cystal clear and she still remembers it, never screaming or swearing once. Whether I on the other hand can't remember much only bits and pieces.

I was maybe 5 at the time when I tripped from the 5th stair and landed on my bottom lip... too scared to look around, but I just cried for a few minutes. I don't remember what happened thereafter, I'd need to ask my parents. Though I remember being surrounded by nurses, one of who gave me a strange numbing cream on my lip with the scare there... I remember what it was like for them to stitch me up, telling me not to lick my lips. I knew there was tissue being rubbed and pulled because of the needle going through, but there wasn't really much pain. And somehow, when it was over, I knew where to walk once I left the place to go see my parents again.
Anyways, the stitches are there, and so unfortunately I still have them and still feel the grooves below the surface. But I have a bad recollection of how I fell, or most of the pain that I experienced. Maybe it was the medicine.
