Sooooo.....here in KS the weather is supposed to start getting bad around 5pm tonight. Talking 1 inch to 2 inches of ice for the next 24 or so hours....with the temps. not getting any higher than 32F. But that's not what i'm pissed about.

My boss calls me today and says the restaraunt will be closing at 5 today. I go to work at
3. So that totals about what? 3 hours cuz we don't leave right at 5. ya know...gotta clean the place up. Anyway, if the weather stays this way, than we will be closed tomorrow all day. that equals 0 hours for me tomorrow.
So...that;s why i'm pissed. I'm losing about 12 hours of time. I already used my vacation hours for the year, cuz they don't carry over. We don't get sick time or anything like that. so all employees are fucked when it comes to payday. Not to mention this is the payday before Christmas. it's gonna hurt alot of people. Most people where i work, are struggling as it is. It'd be nice if we could atleast get some of the missed time paid. It's not our fault the weather's fucked. I'm not so worried about being broke but i looooove my money! And alot of people are not fortunate enough to have anyone in their lives that can lend them money w/o worrying about it. And alot are single moms. too. what the fuck are they gonna do? I'm grateful, cuz my man has saved lots of money so i can fall back on someone if need be. And if worse came to worse...my parents would loan me money.

But what the fuck are the other's gonna do? :(

Not sure what to say Honey but i can symperthise for the last 4 years i have been made redundant at xmas time i am the only worker in our house as my partner looks after our 4 children aged 1,2,3 and 5 its a shit time of year to loose your income but im sure you will think of something and i hope you do without having to resort to lending money that has to be payed back and its shit asking not something i like doing

When you order a 1TB external hard drive from OWC, you are getting only 910GB for your own use. Think about it. If companies want to make 1TB hard drives, but then lie and say that "oh, well more of the space is getting used on formatting," then it's still no excuse for them to not put out a 1.1TB hard drive and then not advertise it as "1TB or better" to make up for the loss. Because that's how much free space you expect to be able to use...and should have at your fingertips.
